She hated her looks for being ugly,
She hated her appearance for it is not beauty,
Pimples and scars are all over her face,
There is not a single clear spot she could trace,
Often people thought she was years older,
The tiny wrinkles above her forehead didin't make her any younger,
Couch potato her many friends would always tease,
The tummy around her waist has never made her at ease,
When it comes to height, she was too short for her age,
This is when the teasing gets intense, she gets into rage,
She had tried to control but tears continue to flow,
Late every night she cries to bed full of sorrow,
No one understood her pain and agony,
All she ever wanted was just beauty not sympathy,
How she wished she looked like her friends,
Beautiful with an hour glass figure in their hands,
A smile on their face could make any soul stay,
But a smile from her just keeps them away,
Why wasn’t god fair she always lamented,
A gift of beauty is all she ever wanted,
Now as she grew older she came to realize,
Where the truth of beauty really lies,
As years passes by she came to understand,
Where the truth of beauty really stand,
Beauty in the outside is a state of mind,
Beauty in the inside is one that’s hard to find,
True beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,
A warm heart remains but looks don’t last forever.

Yours truly,

Nur.
